According to Comicbook.com, EA – without actually giving us any real dates – has further stoked the fires on awaited titles Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda, while confirming another go for Battlefield. No surprise on the latter as it’s a cornerstone cash-cow for the games publisher.
“You should assume that a Battlefield will come typically in the third quarter, when we normally have it,” CFO Blake Jorgensen said in an earnings call. “We’re not yet announcing when Titanfall or Mass Effect Andromeda will come, but you should assume that’s in the back half of the year as well because the second quarter [July-September] is so dominated by our sports titles.”
EA has a monster slate of pending and newly released games spanning from now until the end of 2017 that are and will dominate gamestore shelves. With Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: The Old Republic as well as the upcoming Mirror’s Edge sequel, Catalyst, not to mention all the sports titles, the developer/publisher continues to be the gaming world’s 800-pound gorilla.
